SVSU To Hold Community Youth Day Football Clinic Saturday

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University Department of Athletics will conclude its community youth day program schedule on Saturday (Feb. 18) with a free Football Clinic.

Hemlock rolled in the first half and Carrollton in the second half and it took overtime to decide the winner of their division 5 football playoff game Friday at Hemlock.

Freeland fought off a pesky Standish Sterling in the second half for a 21-12 comeback win in their pre district game Friday evening at home.

HEMLOCK — Hemlock clinched a second-straight trip to the postseason Friday with a 41-32 victory at home over Bullock Creek.

For the second straight year, the Dow High football team is raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a non-profit organization offering assistance to U.S. military servicemen and women injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Midland High opened their football season on a sour note falling 21-7 to host Mt. Pleasant Thursday night in Saginaw Valley league action.
Dustin Lee romped in 70 yards for a TD for Mt. Pleasant to get things rolling in the first quarter followed by a 1 yard TD run by Michael Tweh. The Oilers led 13-0 at the half.

Carrollton High School warmed up today for their upcoming fall football season with a scrimmage against Flint Beecher.
The Cavaliers finished last season with a 2-7 overall record and 2-5 in the TriValley Conference. They open thier 2011 season on the road with a game at Laker Pigeon August 26 at 7 p.m.. The Cavaliers home opener is Sept. 9 against St. Louis at 7 p.m..

Midland High Football Reserved Tickets On Sale Soon

Midland High reserved football tickets will go on sale to current season ticket holders starting Monday, Aug. 22. Tickets will be available in the athletic office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The remaining reserved seats will then be available for purchase to the public starting Monday, August 29.
The cost is $35 per seat for all home games, including the Dow High game.

Reserved tickets for the Dow High football Season will go on sale for previous ticket holders starting Aug. 15-17 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Dow High main office.
Beginning Thursday, Aug. 18, reserved ticket sales will be available to the general public from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Dow main office.
The reserved seat packet is $35 for five home games, which includes the Midland High game.
