Saginaw Heritage's struggling power play found some life as it scored two power-play goals en route to a victory against Mount Pleasant on senior night for Saginaw Heritage.

Nate Bryant had a hat trick to lead Saginaw Swan Valley-Hemlock over host Freeland Carrollton. Hayden Ray added two goals and an assist, while teammates Brian Fisk and Nate Zastrow each added a goal.
Erik Federspiel had a game-high five assists. Fisk added four assists to tie Federspiel in points, with five.

All the bounces were going Dow High's way Wednesday night in the third period against Midland High. The Chargers had scored two goals in the period to tie the game at 3-3.

Steven Jackson's third-period goal was the difference for Saginaw Heritage in its win over Bay Area Thunder.

The Bay City Wolves defeated Mt Pleasant on Wednesday at Mt Pleasant.
After a scoreless first period, Mt Pleasant scored a single goal to combat the Wolves' two. The Wolves kept up the strong offense in the final period with two more goals to close out the game.

The last 1:30 ended with three goals scored as the Bay City Wolves outlasted Saginaw Heritage (5-10, 3-3).
Leading 2-1, with 48 seconds left, Bay City scored an empty-net goal to all but seal the win for the Wolves.
However, Saginaw's Trevor Bremer scored 10 seconds later to get within one, but Saginaw could not score another goal to force overtime.

BAY CITY — Regulation wasn't enough time to settle Wednesday's game between the Bay Area Thunder hockey team and the Tri-City Titans but neither was overtime. A rally in the last five minutes by the Thunder tied the game but the teams ended up with a 3-3 tie after neither team was able to score in the extra session.
Both coaches agreed the teams were as evenly matched as the score implies.

SAGINAW — A quick offensive start and 26 saves from goaltender Kevin Cressey lifted the Heritage hockey team to a 3-1 upset win over host Bay City Wolves.

SAGINAW - After a 1-1 tie heading into the final period, the Swan Valley/Hemlock Titans shot three goals defeated visiting Mt Pleasant 4-1 in non-league action Wednesday.
Brian Fisk shot 2 goals and had and an assist for the Titans and Eric Federspiel had 1 goal and 1 assist, while Nate Bryan notched a goal. Netminder Niklas Nieme made 23 saves and added an assist.

TRAVERSE CITY - The Chemics rallied from a 4-1 defecit at the end of the second period to force overtime with Phil Parks scoring to beat Hartford 5-4 in overtime Friday.
Elliott Digison, Nick Mammel, Thomas Smith and Jason Regier also scored a goal for Midland. The Chemics outshot Hartford 30-18 on the night.

After falling behind by a single goal in the first period, the Titans rallied for 3 golas to down the Mid-Michigan Storm 3-1 Wednesday.

MIDLAND — Midland High scored a pair of power-play goals early in the third period and held on for a 4-3 win over Heritage Wednesday in ice hockey.
Heritage led 1-0 after one period before the defending Saginaw Valley League champion Chemics rallied to tie the game at 2-2 through two periods. Heritage pulled within one goal by scoring with 1:56 left in the game, but the Hawks couldn’t find the equalizer.

The Freeland/Carrollton Grizzlies earned their first won of the hockey season and took second place at the Grand Ledge tournament over the weekend.

The Midland High hockey team took its first step Saturday toward what it hopes will be a third consecutive trip to the state semifinals.
