CARROLLTON - In a night where its top scorer was sidelined with an injury, the rest of the Carrollton girls basketball team stepped up to get the win.
Beverly Wallace scored 21 points, and Lexi Kostick, BreAna Speight, and Rachel Abney had 10 points each.

ST. CHARLES - St. Charles beat Merrill 44-35 in TVC West girls basketball on Tuesday. Free throws hurt the Vandals as they shot 17 of 38 at the line.
The Vandals led by a slim19-18 margin at halftime, but the Bulldogs came out strong in the second half outscoring Merrill 26-16 to notch the win.
Kyleigh Buckley tallied 8 points, 8 rebounds, while Jackie Peake added 8 points and 4 steals for Merrill.

BIRCH RUN — Every player scored for the Birch Run boys basketball team in its 62-44 win over visiting St. Charles Tuesday.

ST CHARLES - Birch Run played three great quarters to put away St Charles in TVC East action in t Charles on Monday.
The Panthers led 29-14 at the half and 48-22 at the end of the third quarter rolling to the win.

ST CHARLES - After a 10-10 deadlock at the end of the first quarter, Carrollton powered past host St Charles Thursday in TVC action for a 54-32 win.
The Cavaliers out-scored St Charles 16-9 in the second quarter to hold a 26-19 lead at the half.

ST. CHARLES — The scoring duo of Todd Brassow and Mike Greenwood carried Michigan Lutheran Seminary to an easy 62-28 win over St. Charles Thursday night.
After a low-scoring first quarter that saw MLS (3-1, 2-0 TVC-West) up 7-6, the Cardinals got 18 in the second to go into the half leading 25-10. MLS scored 23 in the third and 14 in the fourth, cruising to the win.

MERRILL — Kyleigh Buckley had the heroics first for Merrill, hitting the game-tying free throw with 5 seconds left to send the game to overtime.
But when it reached overtime, St. Charles took over, scoring the first five points and winning over the Vandals, 47-37 in an overtime thriller. It was the first win of the season for the Bulldogs.

HEMLOCK — Hemlock opened the boys basketball season with a big 63-33 win over visiting St Charles at home on Monday. Junior Ryan Hagarty led the way with a double double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.
The Huskies jumped out to a 18-2 first quarter lead and extended it to 34-14 by halftime.
