This past Saturday, the Dow High competitive cheer team advanced to Division 1 regionals by placing second out of 14 teams at the district competition at Davison.
Dow was in first place after round 1, third place after round 2, and finished strong in round 3 to take the runner-up spot with 717.4576 behind Davison's first-place score of 723.5868.

Davison held Dow High to single-digit scoring in each of the final three quarters Monday in a 41-34 win over the host Chargers in nonleague girls' basketball.
Dow led 12-11 after the first quarter and 20-18 at halftime, but the Cardinals outscored the Chargers 11-5 in the third to take a 29-25 lead.

The Midland Dow boys soccer team had no trouble with Bay City western rolling to a 4-0 SVL win on Wednesday.
The Chargers took a 3-0 halftime lead with Conrad Lather scoring off an assist from Michael Taylor, Ben Goodwin scoring an unassisted goal and Conner Baak scored a goal assisted by Lather.
Lather notched his second goal in the second half, assisted by Baak.

Midland Dow easily took home the Tri-cities swimming and diving crown Saturday in Midland but it was Heritage junior, Riley Hilbrandt who won the Swimmer of the Meet honors. It was the fourth title in five years for the Chargers who feature only one senior on the team.
The Chargers scored 408 points beating defending champion Heritage (281 points) and third-place Bay City Western (243 points).

For the second straight year, the Dow High football team is raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a non-profit organization offering assistance to U.S. military servicemen and women injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
WWP T-shirts and dog tags will be sold during the Chargers' home game this Friday against Saginaw Arthur Hill at Midland Stadium. The game is at 7 p.m. Shirts are $15 and dog tags are $5, with all proceeds going to the WWP.

After holding a 1-0 lead at the half, Dow rallied for six second half goals in the second half to down the Hawks 7-0 in SVL soccer action.

Midland High beat cross town rival Midland Dow 3-1 in volleyball Thursday at home in league action.
Midland High won the first set 25-18 but Dow fought back knotting up the match with a 25-15 win in the second set.

Midland Dow volleyball captured the Linden Invitational Saturday going undefeated long the way. The Chargers followed up last weeks tournament win without losing a single game again going 7-0 on the day.

Midland Dow won the Okemos Quad meet for the third straight year Tuesday, winning a dominating 25 of 26 matches. The only loss for the Chargers was at No. 1 singles.

Midland Dow boys tennis had to settle for a 4-4 tie with state power Birmingham Brother Rice on Friday at home.
The Chargers (3-0-1) swept the singles flights while Brother Rice won the doubles portion.
Dow's Vikram Shankerwon a tough third set win at No. 4 singles for the tie. Vikram trailed Brother Rice’s Johnny Cameron in the third before making a comeback and winning 6-4 to clinch the set and match.

The two time defending Division 2 State Champions Chargers won ALL 27 matches at the Grand Blanc tennis quad Wednesday. Dow tennis had never before acheived such a dominating performance, never even dropping a set along the way against against Grand Blanc, East Lansing and Troy Athens.

Reserved tickets for the Dow High football Season will go on sale for previous ticket holders starting Aug. 15-17 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Dow High main office.
Beginning Thursday, Aug. 18, reserved ticket sales will be available to the general public from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Dow main office.
The reserved seat packet is $35 for five home games, which includes the Midland High game.
