Birch Run outscored North Branch 25-2 in the first half in the last Birch Run's Senior Night.
Birch Run senior Sarah Hartley led all scorers with 15 points in the final home game of her high school basketball career.

Sarah Hartley scored 16 points, grabbed six steals, and dished out five assists to help Birch Run to a 10-point win over Montrose at home.
Hartley also drew a defensive assignment on Montrose's leading scorer, Kassidi Adams. Adams finished with 19 points to lead Montrose, but Hartley forced multiple turnovers as well.

A little experience and a lot of preparation helped Birch Run to a 67-9 win over Montrose for its third district title in a row.

ESSEXVILLE - The Lady Panthers defense had a big game holding the Dukes to twelve point in the final three quarters to beat Essexville 69-27 in TVC cross-over action Thursday.
After taking a 27-15 first quarter lead, the Panthers outscored the Dukes 42-12 to cruise to the win.

BIRCH RUN — A 26-8 edge in the third quarter propelled Bullock Creek to an 82-56 win over Birch Run Thursday night in a Tri-Valley Conference Crossover game.

BIRCH RUN — Vassar outscored Birch Run 14-5 in the fourth quarter to claim a 45-34 win in boys basketball Wednesday.

BIRCH RUN — Four players scored in double figures and 11 in all for Birch Run on Tuesday as the Panthers defeated Bridgeport, 68-44.

Frankenmuth opened their TVC conference play with a 68-40 win over visiting Birch Run Thursday.
The Eagles held a 32-18 lead at the half before finishing off the Panthers in the second half outscoring them 36-22 for the win.

VASSAR — Birch Run edged host Vassar in girls basketball 43-42 Monday.
The Panthers were down 9-4 at the end of the first but outscored Vassar 15-7 in the second quarter to take a 19-16 halftime lead.
Birch Run barely held off a fourth quarter rally by vassar but held on for the 43-42 win.

BIRCH RUN — Sarah Hartley amounted a serving assault on Essexville Garber on Wednesday in a 3-0 win.
That assault also put her into Birch Run lore.
Hartley fired six aces to break the season single record for the stat in Birch Run history. She now has the new single season record with 97 aces. Hartley also added 10 kills and 20 digs for the Panthers, which won with scores of 25-21, 25-11 and 25-16.

Playing in heavy wind and light rain, the Panthers dropped their semi-final match against Flint Powers 3-0 tonight.
After a scoreless fist half, Powers (11-5-5) found the back of the net three times to advance in the division 3 district soccer tournament. They are currently ranked at #8 behind Frankenmuth which was upset by Bad Axe on Tuesday.
The Panthers finish the season at 14-5-1 overall.

Lupe Ruiz scored two goals to lead Birch Run to a 2-1 win over host Montrose on Thursday.
Birch Run (12-4-1, 7-4-1 TVC) led 1-0 at the half and Ruiz added his second half goal before Montrose scored a late goal. The Panthers held on to the 2-1 edge to win the non conference match.
Adam Bishop tallied 2 assists for the Panthers and Kevin Abdella stopped 1 shot in goal.

The Panthers and North Branch played to a 1-1 tie Monday.
The Broncos scored first but Matt Grim knotted it up on a goal for the Panthers with an assist from Korey Cuthbertson in the first half. neither team was able to net another gaol and the game ended with a 1-1 tie.
Kevin Abdella made 4 saves in the net.

Valley Lutheran boys soccer shut out visiting Birch Run 4-0 Monday evening to improve to 6-0 ( 2-0 TVC).
Valley Lutheran held a 1-0 lead and scored three goals in the second half for the win.

Birch Run took a hit tonight in their season opener against the Chesaning losing to Chesaning 35-19. Chesaning took an early lead in the first quarter scoring the first touchdown on a Deshaun Young 37 yard run.
In the second quarter, Young scored another rushing touchdown of 46 yards, but the Panthers Nate McGuire answered back with a 15 yard run touchdown ending the quarter down 13-7.

Birch Run downed Caro 3-0 in boys soccer Wednesday led by Caleb Slavik's two goals.
Matt Grimm added the Panthers other goal and Korey Cuthbertson and Dallas VanDuesen tallied 1 assist each, while goaltender Kevin Abdella made 4 stops for the shutout.
