Midland Dow volleyball captured the Linden Invitational Saturday going undefeated long the way. The Chargers followed up last weeks tournament win without losing a single game again going 7-0 on the day.
Dow (12-0) beat Burton Atherton, 25-10 and 25-12, followed by a win over host Linden (25-10, 25-14). They then defeted Flint Carman-Ainsworth (25-21, 25-18) and Oxford (22-25, 25-18, 15-12) in pool play.
The Chargers beat Swartz Creek 25-15 and 25-20 in the quarterfinals, then Carman-Ainsworth 25-13 and 25-12 in the semifinals. Oxford put up a fight in the finals but Dow pulled off the win 25-23, 25-21.
Josie Queary led the Chargers with 123 assists, 25 digs, 8 blocks, 5 kills and 5 aces. Kate Pretty had 52 kills, 42 digs, 8 aces and 5 blocks and twin sister, Victoria, had 28 kills and 7 blocks.
Dow hopes for similiar fortunes when they travel to play in the Pinconning Invitational on Thursday.
