Allie Kendall, Rachel McInerney and Taylor Hengesbach scored 15 points each for Saginaw Nouvel in their victory over Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart.

"They're a well coached team," Sacred Heart coach Damon Brown said. "They played well on their home court. Both teams played hard throughout the whole game.

"We knew they had two solid post players and we tried to focus a lot of attention on them. Their third scorer made a lot of shots. She wasn't exactly part of our game plan. It was kind of pick your poison; guard two players hard and then another option opens up."

Erica Hansen led Sacred Heart with 16 points while her sister, Sara Hansen added nine.

"It's a tough place to play. They are very well coached. We battled until the end. We'll learn a lot from this game," Brown said.
