The Clare Cyclones fumbled their first game losing 35-48 to the Falcons at Freeland High school Friday night. Both teams ran out of the gate hot in the first quarter as Clare’s Aaron Haynack caught a 30 yard pass from Brent Luplow to get the first points of the game. Falcon, David Ruhlman answered back a few minutes later with a 65 yard pass from Conner Schultz. Luplow threw another pass this time for 75 yards to Haynak for another Cyclone touchdown. Falcon, Matt Schauman finished the quarter with a 6 yard run ending the quarter 14-12 Freeland lead.
Haynack scored another touchdown in the second quarter off a 16 yard pass from Luplow adding another 6 on the board. Jackson Gross contributed with his 2 point conversion to put 8 more points on the board. Schauman ran for 50 yards for another Falcon touchdown keeping the game close ending the quarter 21-20 still the Falcon Lead.

The third quarter slowed down as Ruhlman ran four yards to put 7 more Falcons points on the board extending their lead 28-20 at the end of the quarter.
Ruhlman ran for 4 yards for a touchdown to start an exciting fourth quarter. Clare’s Jackson Gross ran for 11 yards for a touchdown and added two more on a conversion. Schauman ran for 7 to give the Falcons another 6 points after the field goal was missed. Luplow threw a 10 yard pass for yet another touchdown for Clare. Ruhlman came back and ran 65 yards for the final points of the game giving the Falcons a 48-35 win.
Freeland’s next game is away at Chesaning.
