Frankenmuth girls basketball beat class A Detroit Southeastern 51-48 at the Motor City Roundball Classic in Detroit Wednesday.
The Eagles fell behind 19-14 at the end of the first quarter and kept pace in the second to trail 31-26 at the half.
A strong third quarter by the Eagles, who outscored Detroit 15-5 put the Eagles up 41-36 heading into the final quarter. Frankenmuths defense held onto the lead and a big win over Detroit SE for the 51-48 win in a non league action.
Rae Zink led the way for Frankenmuth with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Taylor Wood had 9 and Meghan Miller added 8.
The Eagles (5-1) returns to action Jan. 5 against Essexville Garber.
The Motor City Roundball Classic runs from December 26-30 at Detroit Country Day in Beverly Hills.
