BAY CITY — After suffering a loss last week Midland High the Bay City Wolves hockey team was looking to exact a little payback on the city against its district sibling Midland Dow. The Wolves would do just that pulling out to a 4-1 lead in the first period and defeating the Chargers 6-4.
"We got a needed win," Wolves coach Mike Kayner said. "It was important to comeback and get these points after last week (when we lost to Midland High)."
Brett Leppek led the Wolves offense with two goals while teammates Chandler Foco, Devin Baldwin, Trevor Young and Garrett Pashak each had one. Logan Eby and Cameron Nowak both tallied two assists while Baldwin and Pashak each had one. Carter Adams was in the net and had 17 saves.
Conrad Lather led the Chargers offense with two goals. Teammates Zach Paisley and Matt Lee each had one.
The Wolves (5-2, 1-1) are on the ice again Friday as they host Saginaw Swan Valley-Hemlock. Dow (3-2, 1-1) is at Walled Lake Western on Friday.
