MIDLAND — Neither Bullock Creek or Frankenmuth had the luxury of facing a lesser opponent to open the season when the teams squared off on Friday with the Lancers earning a 66-60 win over the Eagles.
“I was pretty happy with scoring 60 points in our first game of the year against Bullock Creek,” said Frankenmuth coach Tom Keller. “Offensively, we were OK, but I was disappointed with our defensive effort.
“Win or lose, we got a lot out of this game. One game does not make or break the season for us.”
Ellie Juengel led four players in double-figure scoring with 17 for Bullock Creek. Carrie Chamberlain added 13 for the Lancers, while Hannah Heldt and Morgan McGinnis finished with 10 points each.
Frankenmuth had 10 different players score, led by Julia Bender with 11 points and Desirae Duvernois and Jordan Skiba with 10 each.
