BAY CITY — Former Arthur Hill standout and current Saginaw Valley State guard Chris Webb was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North "Player of the Week".
Webb led the Cardinals in scoring in both games of the weekend Coaches vs. Cancer Classic hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside. Webb tallied 19 points in the 83-68 loss to Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday and posted 22 points in the 85-75 victory over Minnesota Duluth on Saturday. He currently leads SVSU and ranks second in the GLIAC with his 18.7 points per game average this season. He is shooting 47.2 percent (17-36) from the field and 88.9 percent (16-18) from the charity stripe.
Webb and the Cardinals will return to action tonight (Nov. 21) as they welcome Miami University to O'Neill Arena for a regular season match-up at 7:00 PM. SVSU is 1-2 on the season, while Miami is 1-1.
