Midland Dow Volleyball Captures Chippewa Hills Invitational Crown

Midland Dow volleyball started out the season on a good note Saturday as the team went undefeated and won the Chippewa Hills Invitational.

The Chargers won all five matches without dropping a single game. In pool play, the Chargers defeated Big Rapids Crossroads (25-10, 25-10), Hart (25-16, 25-17) and shutdown Holton (25-6, 25-7).

Dow met host Chippwa Hills in the semifinals, where the Chargers won 25-10 and 25-11. The Chargers defeated Bay City Central in the finals winning 25-20 and 25-12 for the perfect start in the 11-team tournament.

Kate Pretty led the Chargers with 38, kills  sister Victoria had a team-high 10 blocks. Josie Queary led the team in digs (16) and assists (89) while Kaitlyn Mault recorded the most aces on the day with 10.

Dow get back in action next Saturday at the Linden Invitational.
