CHESANING -- Bullock Creek opened a big early lead and cruised to a 67-21 win over host Chesaning in Tri-Valley Conference Central girls' basketball on Tuesday.
The Lancers led 19-4 after the first quarter and 35-11 at halftime before outscoring the Indians 32-10 in the second half.
"I was really happy with our effort, and I was excited that everyone got a chance to contribute and play quite a bit," said Creek coach Justin Freeland.
Emilie Pretzer led the Lancers with 14 points and six steals, while Ellie Juengel added 11 points, Kendra Shankel 10 points, and Hannah Heldt five steals.
The Lancers (16-3 overall, 9-3 TVC Central) host Ovid-Elsie on Friday to wrap up the regular season.
ALMA -- Tori Jankoska scored 26 points Tuesday to lead Freeland to a 69-36 victory over host Alma in Tri-Valley Conference Central girls' basketball.
The Falcons roared out to a 22-9 lead after the first period and led 40-16 at halftime before coasting to the victory.
Jankoska also added seven rebounds and six assists, while Tara Padgett and Abbye Wenzell added 18 and 12 points, respectively. Taryn Taugher contributed seven rebounds and seven steals.
The Falcons (16-3 overall, 13-0 TVC Central) host Chesaning on Friday to conclude the regular season. Freeland will be attempting to finish undefeated in the TVC Central for the first time in school history.
SAGINAW -- Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary beat Merrill 35-31 in Tri-Valley Conference West girls' basketball on Tuesday.
"We struggled to score in the first half," Vandals' coach Jason Buckley said. "But the girls did a good job battling back in the second half."
The Cardinals led 13-5 after the first quarter, 25-12 at halftime, and 27-21 after the third quarter.
The Vandals were led by Brogan Klouse, who had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Faith Schroeder led MLS with 11 points.
Merrill (1-18 overall, 0-13 TVC West) finishes the regular season on Thursday at St. Louis.
