Nouvel Catholic went to overtime before finally defeating visiting Bay City Western 3-2 in Overtime in non-conference action Monday.
Nate Garpiel nailed a header from a corner kick with an assist by Alex Thieme to grab a 1-0 lead. It didnt last long as Zac Viaene evened things up for the Warriors with a goal before the end of the half for a 1-1 tie.
Thieme put the Panthers back on top scoring on a penalty kick but Devin Young put a shot past Panther goalie Chris Valaseck to tie the game at 2-2 at the end of regulation.
Panther Thomas Minbiole scored a goal in the first half of overtime and the defense held on for the 3-2 overtime win.
