SVSU Summer Sports Camps
The 16th Annual S.K.I.L.L.S. Basketball Camps will take place this summer all over the Saginaw area. Basketball coaches Matt Bauer and Eric Hagenow will hold camps for boys and girls ages 7-15.
The camps will run from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m Monday through 3 p.m. at each location. The cost is $85 per player with family discounts available.

Saginaw Township Recreation To Sponsor Football Camp July 26-28
Saginaw Township Recreation will be sponsoring a 3-day youth football camp on July 26-28. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. all three days. The camp is for Kids in grades 9-12.
Heritage High School coach Don maloney and staff will run the camp that will feature a guest speaker, a local college coach and alumni. Early registration run until July 9th with a cost of $65(includes a shirt). The cost will increse $75 after that date. The focus of the camp is Veer Offensive & Defensive Fundamentals and You may register at the Saginaw Township Park Recreation, 3320 N. Center rd.

Saginaw Township Recreation Now Registering For Co-Ed Kickball 6-8-10
You thought your favorite childhood game was a thing in your past. Not so. Saginaw Township Recreation is now taking restration for an adult co-ed kickball league. The seven game season will begin in mid July and end with a post tournament. All games are played on Saturdays.
The Annual Carrollton Festival of Races takes place on Sunday at Carrollton High School drawing runners from all over the nation. The event features a marathon, a mini-marathon (new this year), a 20k,10k and 5k run as well as a 5k walk.
The marathon is the main draw for runners, but with the addition of a mini-marathon (8.3 miles), event organizer Craig Douglas is hoping to draw an even bigger group of runners.
Coach Lou Dawkins To Instruct Saginaw Area Foundation For Eye Care Basketball Camp August 18-19 At Freeland SportsZone 7-1-10
Saginaw High coach Lou Dawkins will instruct the Saginaw Area Foundation For Eye Care Basketball Camp scheduled for August 18-19 at the Freeland SportsZone located at 569 Midland Rd. in Freeland.
The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 1-12 and will run from 9 a.m. - noon for children 1st thru 6th grades and 1 - 4 pm for children in 7th thru 12th grades. The cost for the camp is $60 with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Saginaw Area Eye Foundation. Registration deadline is August 1. ![]()
FREE Fishing Lessons At Imerman Park On Mondays 7-10-10
Free fishing classes are being offered by the Saginaw County Parks and Recreation Commission at Imerman Park on Mondays, July 12, 19, and 26 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Would you like to go fishing, but don’t know where to start? In this class, you will learn the basics of fishing, from rigging a pole to tying and baiting a hook. You will actually be fishing in this class, so participating adults must possess a valid Michigan fishing license. Please call (989) 790-5280 to pre-register. The class is FREE, however, there is a $2 gate fee to enter the park. ![]()
The Midland Community Tennis Center will host a tournament for high school players to get ready for the up-coming school season. The two day tournament is set to run from July 31-Aug. 1. with matches starting at 10 a.m. both days.
The High School Showdown will feature both boys and girls singles and doubles. Participants must be high school students(2010 school year) or recently graduated this year. Saturday is the doubles and Sunday is the Singles tournament. Entrants may play in both events. Check in is 9:30 a.m. The matches will be played on outdoor courts. Registration deadline is Monday, July 26. Champions and finalists will receive awards with all players receiving a tournament t-shirt. Thomas Township Fall Soccer Sign-up Has Begun 7-22-10
Sign up for boys and girls k-6 fall soccer has begun and will run through Aug 27th. A new 5 yr old league will be offered this year. Games will begin on Sept. 18.
Cost for the league is $35 for Thomas Township residents and $42 for non-residents. The six week season will be played on Saturdays at the Shields Festival Grounds. Shin guards are required. Visit the Thomas Township Parks and Recreation website for more information
