ZUMBA, meaning to “move fast and have fun” is one of the fastest growing and popular aerobic workouts hitting the country.  Center Courts is one of the many places in Saginaw that is offering classes.

ZUMBA utilizes moves that work the mid section in the body making your back and abs stronger. It can potentially reshape your body, heart, and mind, leaving you feeling good and energized.

Classes are being instructed by Pat Donaghy, a certified ZUMBA instructor.

Class Schedules are: Tuesday’s and Thursday’s 6:40 – 7:40 pm

                                  Saturday’s 9:30 -10:30am

Punch cards are:          $35 for 4 classes

                                    $45 for 6 classes

                                    $65 for 10 classes

Registration for the 2010 Freeland Little League season has begun on-line.

You may register your child on-line for baseball or softball at the leagues website. You can save money by signing up online before Feb. 9th.

SVSU will be hosting it's 4th Annual Cardinal Cabaret Auction on April 17 at Curtis Hall. The event is a fundraiser for the athletic department's scholarship fund.

Along with the auction there will be music and raffles. Everyone in attendance will automatically be entered in a grand prize drawing for $1,000. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will start at 5:45 p.m.

Cost for the event is $45 per person, $80 a couple, or $300 per table of eight.

SVSU 4th Annual Cardinal Cabaret Auction Set For April 17

It’s the New Year. Resolutions have been made, Promises to be kept, and time to make the changes you have been telling yourself you were going to make. Why not make those changes at the Center Courts in Saginaw Township.

 A Body Fit Boot Camp will begin on January 19th and run through March 11th for 8 weeks of body conditioning. A pre registration fee of $50 is due before January 11th, with the balance of $129 due by January 18th. Classes are two times a week (Tuesday & Thursdays) and offered at 5:30 – 6:30 am or pm. The program includes; 16 workouts, 3 nutrition plans, and 2 fitness assessments. For those looking for something else, Gentle Yoga will begin every Monday at 4:00 – 5:00 pm starting January 11th through February 15th. Registration begins January 6th at the Center Courts. The class will work on gentle moves to increase flexibility, strength, and help with deep relaxation. Yoga is an excellent way to relieve stress, help with chronic pain and recover from injury. Classes will be instructed by Barbara Kochendorfer BS.RYT a Registered and Certified Yoga Instructor. How about some fun for the kids? Music for Munchkins is a great way for your 1- 4 year old to interact with others. Michele Spitz, a nationally charted recording artist will bring musical fun through crafts, songs dancing and much, much more. A registration fee of $36 is required for the 4 weeks. Classes are Thurs. or Fri. at 9:30 am – 10:00am, Thurs. 11:00 am – 11:30 am, Fri. 10:30 am – 11:00 am, and Thurs. 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm. Let’s not forget about the fun in the snow. Saginaw Township Recreation and Apple Mountain will be offering a Youth Ski & Snowboard Camp Running January 12th through February 4th at Apple Mountain Ski Resort. This class is designed for first time skiers and snowboarders. Registration is going on now and cost $160 at the Center Courts. Grades 5-7 will meet on Tuesdays 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm and Grades 8-10 will meet Thursdays 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm. The camp includes Lift Tickets, Ski/Snowboard rentals, Group lesson and will be instructed by a (PSIA) professional ski instructor. Saginaw Township South Little league baseball Sign-up Available On-Line 2-4-10
Sign-up for the 2010 Saginaw Township South Little league is available on-line at the leagues website or at dates and times below.

Thurs.. Feb. 18, at Fire Station #3 on Center Near Gratiot , 6-8 p.m.

Sat. Feb. 20, (Late registration) at Fire Station #3 on Center Near Gratiot , 9 a.m til Noon.

A coaches meeting will take place on Wed. Feb. 24, at Fire Station #3 on Center Near Gratiot, from 6-8 p.m.


Okland University To Hold Baseball Camp At Peak Performance
Peak Performance will host the Okland University Winter Baseball Camp to be held on Saturday, April 2. The camp if for players ages 8-19.

There will be three sessions. A hitting clinic will begin at 9 a.m. and will cost $50.

A pitching - hitting clinic will run from 12:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. at a cost of $25 .

A defense - agility clinic will run from 3 - 5 p.m. at a cost of $25.

Saginaw Township Spring Soccer Sign-ups Scheduled at Meijers
The Saginaw Township Soccer Association has scheduled spring soccer sign-up dates set for March. You may register in person at Meijers on Tittabawassee on Saturday, March 6, and Saturday March 27.

The cost per player is $65, plus an additional $15 jersey fee.
