Michigan State had a tough road making it to the final four. Some say they knew they would be there, but after watching them play can you still say that. Michigan State did win those games, and by one point or two, a win is a win they say. That is true, a win is a win and that is all that matters, especially playing in a tournament. There are no second chances.
But, judging by the teams they played and the close calls they had, are they the best team in the land? Are they really good and just play hard enough to win most of the time? After all, a win is a win, no matter how hard you play. States largest margin of victory was only seven points against a #9 seed Northern Iowa. Granted they took out #1 seed Kansas, but they had to play hard to get there.
Luckily for State they take on an overachieving Butler team that is also a #5 seed. No doubt State has been an underachieving team in my eyes. That is why I wonder if they have the heart to really dig down and beat a really good team. Duke is a team that has dominated most of the teams they played so far. either team that comes out of the other bracket will be tough.
I believe that State has to dig down really deep and show them that they are a team to be reckoned with. The other team will come in with a bunch of confidence knowing they pounded their opponents.
We will know in a few days just how good they really are.
