SVSU Shocks #9 Findlay at Home 83-69 12-4-09
Saginaw Valley State University didnt just win, they won BIG. The Cardinals took down the defending GLIAC Champions, 83-69 in front of a big home crowd. At one point in the game the Cardinals led by as many as 26-points. SVSU snapped the Oilers win streak which had climbed to 34 games in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Cardinals had not defeated Findlay since the 1992-93 season. The Cardinals led 42-31 at halftime before going on to win 83-69. Keithan Jackson led the Cardials offense, posting his fourth double-double of the season finishing with 22-points and 17-rebounds. Jackson has tallied at least 17-rebounds in three games so far this season. Chris Webb added 18-points and 2-steals while Avery Stephenson had 15-points and 6-rebounds. Sean Romsek contributed with 13-points and 2-rebounds. Saginaw Valley improves to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the GLIAC. The Cardinals will host Hillsdale College in a GLIAC matchup on Saturday , with a tip-off of 7 p.m. ![]() |
