![]() Oakland University Gets Commitment From Hemlock Junior Shelby Herrington 1-2-10 Shelby Herrington, a local area girl from Hemlock, MI. loves basketball. Now her dream will continue as she verbally committed to play for Oakland University in Rochester, MI. Shelby, a junior at Hemlock high School plays forward and center at 6 foot 2 inches. Hemlock has a 5-2 record so far this season. Oakland University, a Division I school finished 26-7 last year. Piquing the interest of some top schools in the country like Iowa and Kentucky, Shelby chose Oakland because of location, and the fact they play some tough competition. Shelby’s father, George Herrington, the principle of St. Louis High School played basketball for Alma College, and Coached boys basketball at Breckenridge. Hemlocks next season game will be on January 8, 2010 at Chesaning. ![]() ![]()
