Nouvel playoff Hopes Dashed With 32-7 Loss To John Glenn 10-16-09

Nouvels playoff hopes were dashed with a 32-7 loss tonite to Bay City John Glenn. The Panthers tied John Glenn 7-7 at the end of the first quarter but failed to score the rest of the game for the loss. Late in the first quarter starting QB Brad Joynt dislocated his kneecap. The Panthers were unable to mount much offense after the swith to Ty Jacobs who normally plays at wide receiver.

Travis Bryant hit Tanner Kain on a 9-yard TD pass to give John Glenn the 7-0 lead. Nouvel answered right back when Ryan Miller galloped in 76-yards for a TD to tie the game 7-7.

In the second quarter Ryan LaFlure dashed in from 1-yard to score for the Bobcats. The extra point was missed and John Glenn took a 13-7 lead into the locker room.

The Bobcat's Jordan Schumann scored on a 45-yard run for the only points in the third quarter, 19-7.

Schumann ran in his second TD, this time from 51-yards and Devin McCulloh added a 4-yard rushing TD for the games final points.

Ryan Miller led the Panther offense with 159-yards on 23 carries and 1-TD. Ty Jacobs added 28-yards and Bennet Lewis had 57-yards on the ground.

Reid McConnell led the defense with 14-tackles and Jacob Fallon tallied 12-tackles.

Nouvel falls to 4-4 on the season and John Glenn improves to 4-4.

The Panthers travel to Ohio next Saturday to take on Bishop Ready in Columbus for a 2 pm game.
