Millington Knocks Carrollton From Football Playoffs With A 53-21 Win 10-31-09

8-1 Carrollton traveled to Millington to take on the 8-1 Cardinals in a division 5 playoff game and was soundly defeated 53-21.

The Cardinals jumped out to a big lead scoring three first quarter TDs for a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Justin Stutler scored on a 5-yard run, Jesse Stewart scored on a 62-yard run and Stutler scored again on a 14-yard run. Mitchell Wilkerson converted the PAT after all three TDs.

In the second quarter Carrollton got on the board when Zack Palmreuter hit Adam Moses on a 23-yard pass, Palmreuter converted the PAT. Late in the quarter Matt Harrington answered with a 15-yard run for a Cardinal TD. With just over a minute left in the half, Robert Essex scored for Carrollton on a 13-yard run, Palmreuter converted the PAT for a 27-14 Millington lead.

In the third quarter the two teams traded TD with Millington scoring first on a Stutler 2-yard run. Carrollton answered when Palmreuter connected with Andy Miller on a 68-yard passing TD.

It was all Millington in the final quarter scoring three TDs to put the nail in the coffin. Cameron Wilson scored on a 25-yard rushing TD and Stutler scored his third TD of the game on a 12-yard run. Wilson scored the games final TD recovering a fumble in the endzone.

9-1 Millington will play 7-3 Vassar in the second round of the playoffs.
