Gobbler Gallop Draws Large Field of Runners 12-1-09

The Gobbler Gallop held on Thanksgiving morning drew a large field of 233 runners. A little over 100 runners pregistered for the event but at least a hundred more showed up at Imerman Park on race day to compete.

The Gobbler Gallop Trail run was sponsored by the Hawks Running Club which promotes youth running in the Saginaw Township area. The Gobbler Gallop events were the 5k run, 1.5 mile run and a 1.5 mile walk. Winners (males and females) of each event won a pumpkin pie. Race Director Daryl Bernard said," We had an overwelming turnout, and everyone seemed to have a good time, we are really happy about that.".

The overall 5k run winner was here all the way from England, Brad Kickster, 23, of Crowley, England finished in 18:02. The overall 1.5 mile run was Hannah Frederichs, 10, of Midland, she finished in 10:32. The 5k walk overall winner was David Cable , 62, of Saginaw who finished in 19:08.

Femal winner of the 5k run was Kayla Duke, 20 of Linden finished in 23:13. Male 5k winner was Brad Kickster, 23, of Crowley, England in 18:02.

1.5 mile run female winner was Hannah Frederichs, 10, of Midland, she finished in 10:32. Caleb Jahr , 14, of Midland was the male 1.5 mile run winner in a time of 11:01.

1.5 walk female winner was Kathy Kerbleski, 52, of Auburn, who finished in a time of 20:32. The male 1.5 mile walk winner was David Cable , 62, of Saginaw in 19:08.
