Flint Northwestern Academy Shuts Out Buena Vista 10-16-09

Flint Northwestern brought football to town Friday night, and left Buena Vista wondering what hit them.

In the first quarter Flint’s Derrick Hunt ran for 57-yards to score the first TD of the game. After a failed conversion the score was 6 – 0.

The second quarter had Flint scoring again as Hunt ran for 68-yards to score again. Once again they tried for 2-points and failed bringing the score to 12 – 0. A few minutes later, the Wildcats again scored as Jarvis Hudson ran 9-yards for the TD. Hudson scored on the 2-point conversion to finish the quarter 20-0.

In the third quarter, Flint scored once more as Eric Dorsey ran for 30-yards on a fumble recovery for the TD. The 2-point conversion failed again to bring the score 26-0. With 53 seconds on the clock, Dominique Chaney caught a 29-yard pass from Raphael Parker to score. Parker scored on the 2-point conversion to end the third quarter 34-0.

Devonte Terry scored off a 44-yard pass from Parker in the 4th quarter. Mantra Magee then ran for the 2-points to end the game 42-0.

Other key players for Flint were Anquan Burt with 14 tackles and Josh Carter with 13 tackles. Raphael Parker threw for 5-completions and 121-yards. Derrick Hunt finished the game with 306-yards rushing and the 2-TD’s.

Flint’s overall record improves to 5-4 and Buena Vista falls to 2-7. Flint plays Flint Northern away next week and Buena Vista plays Hamady High School at home.
