Arthur Hill Ends Season 0-8 After Loss To Saginaw High 10-25-09 ![]() Arthur Hill ended it's season 0-8 after a 14-0 loss to Saginaw High in the Alumni Classic at Arthur Hill Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Trojans ended a four year winning streak by the Lumberjacks. The Lumberjacks are still a young team and is in the midst of rebuilding it's program under first year coach Anwar Jackson. They only have one returning starter from last years team. The Trojans find themselves in a similar position under the direction of first year coach Gary Lee. But unlike Jackson, Lee has several years of experience, coaching in the Flint school district. The first half was filled with mistakes by both teams going back and forth with fumbles and interceptions. Arthur Hill finished the game with four turnovers ( 3-interceptions) and the Trojans had three. Neither team was able to muster much offense and Arthur Hill had -6 yards at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Greg Hayes scored in the final minute of the third quarter running in from 3-yards. Hayes then completed a pass to Jauron Howard for the 2-point conversion. In the fourth quarter Arthur Hill drove down into the red zone with three minutes left in the game, only to have Dion Smith intercept a pass on the one-yard line and run it back 99-yards for a TD to seal the win for the Trojans. Terry Simmons led the Trojans with 92-yards rushing, with Chris Williams contributing 34-yards rushing. DeAnthony Arnett had 3-receptions for 36-yards and QB Greg Hayes 3 of 5 passes for 26-yards and 33-yards rushing and 1-TD. Lydell Simon led the Lumberjacks offense with 78-yards rushing and Kwincey Tucker caught 2 passes for 29-yards. ![]() ![]()
