The 5th Annual ORC Cares 5k Run/Walk will take place Saturday at Our Redeemer Church, 889 Poseyville rd. in Midland. The race benefits the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry's Back Pack Buddies program. The run begins at 9 a.m. with race day registration begining at 8 a.m.

Back Pack Buddies is program that provides a weekend backpack of nutritional food to elementary school children who receive free or reduced price school lunches. Approximately 765 children at 17 elementary schools in Midland County participate in the program. Each dollar raised purchases up to $14 dollars of food at supermarket prices. Fo more info, www.midlandcountyefpn.org. Last years run raised over $1,800 for the Midland Habitat for Humanity.

Race day registration is $15.
